Sizzler understand the important role Australian businesses can play in the broader community and are committed to further enhancing the communities in which we operate. Through the Workplace Giving Program, Sizzler along with parent company Collins Foods Limited, have raised over $1.3 Million for Australian charities.
Launched in 2008, the Workplace Giving Program provides employees with the opportunity to make a difference to our community by donating to five charities through pre-tax payroll contributions. Employees choose the amount they donate and which of our five charities they wish to support.
Sizzler then matches staff donations (up to an annual CAP of $100K), effectively doubling the amount received by our partner charities. Best of all 100% of funds raised go directly to the charities, with no administration costs.
Five Australian charity organisations were chosen, based on the results on an employee survey, which identified the community causes that were of most interest to our employees. These charities include – Good Beginnings Australia, Animal Welfare League QLD, Breast Cancer Network Australia, Youngcare and Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia.
In 2009 we extended the program by introducing donation boxes in all of our restaurants, providing our guests with the opportunity to help raise much needed funds for our charity partners. The combination of generous customer donations, employee contributions and company matching have allowed us to reach $1Million this year.
