Responsible Service of Alcohol - RSA

It is a legislative requirement in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia for all staff that serve and supply alcohol in licensed premises to have completed an approved Responsible Service of Alcohol course and hold a current RSA certificate.

Sizzler Service, Coldside and Management staff may all be involved in the service and supply of alcohol as part of their regular duties. RSA training provides you with an understanding of your obligations under the law when working in a licensed venue.

The RSA certificate should be a statement of attainment of the qualification THHBFB09B and must be from an approved training provider in your state. You may have already attained this qualification if you are completing Hospitality studies. Costs vary between $75 and $90 depending on the provider. Training sessions are usually a half day commitment and may also be available on-line in some states. Details regarding mandatory industry training including a list of approved RSA training providers can be accessed via your respective state government liquor licensing websites.
